I had this thought...in the old days, you know before electric cars, tablet PC's and facebook, people had to walk or ride horses to go talk to other people...I wondered if maybe they ever dropped coins on those walks? So I went to an old sand road I know of to test the idea and ACTUALLY found a silver dime! Only a merc, but so rare when my plans go according to plan... a what lovely example of the coin! ahahahaahahahah BATTERED by a life time in the road...

I think maybe I've discovered a different kind of place to dig and LOTS of it...right down the middle of old sand roads!

Check out the vid too! Yes, I'm making vids again...

You found your silver! Cool you kept slogging on testing the old dirt road despite nasty cold. Your hunch about the old sand roads seems right on, bet pretty soon a larger silver shows up on that road or similar road. Nice lively little green snake. HH Andi

Crazy hard hunting! You found silver in a road, I never would have thought of that. Hope you get better soon. HH

Nice silver!! Keep having those good ideas!

Yeah, I tested the idea on a back road near my house...that road only 30 years old and I found 30 year old coins embedded in it. This video shows coins can stay embedded for much longer periods, despite rains, traffic, road graders, back filling. Kind of an exciting idea to me, considering how many miles of back roads are out there.

It's never gonna produce a jam packed 20 silver day, but who knows what interesting trinkets might have been left behind.

It's a shame that Merc is in so bad shape :(
