Rest in peace, my friend, Ben. You will be missed.

Since I couldn't merge the "No Nonsense" thread with this one; I felt it proper to have Ben's memorial complete with his friends' condolences in the proper thread. I also can not just attach "a reply with quote" unless I have 3 words or more added. RR

I just found out this morning that my good friend Poorhunter died unexpectedly Saturday morning. 33 years young with a child on the way.

I posted here because this forum has been common ground for many of his friends here at TN .

Rest in Peace...."Ben". A truly good guy who even sent me morel mushrooms this past spring. I never met him in person but feel I knew him well. We exchanged many, many, enjoyable e-mails. He will be missed. Prayers to the family and his friends.

DITTO Ben was quite the character with a great sense of humor. WE tried to meet up once when he was playing in a pool tournament in Philly. Unfortunately I had just started working the night job and of course I'm working every weekend. Ben was also the type to give you the shirt off his back, and I mean that literally. Even though we really knew each other through e-mail like Bigscoop, he still felt like a younger brother.

Ben, try and get a game with Fats and let us know the outcome (Ben always loved humor, even twisted)

God bless you

In memory of Ben.

Poorhunter communicated regularly on and off TN but was silent this last month or so.

There surely will be a void on TN, as No-Nonsense was Poorhunter's favorite board jesting with his friends.

Goodbye...

Keep the fire going friend,we,ll be along.

There will be viewing for Ben tomorrow and he will be laid to rest on Thursday . My wife and I are going to give his widow $100 from us and his friends here at TN . Not a lot with what she is facing but it is all we can spare right now .

My prayers are with his family and friends............

One member has already offered to match my donation and wanted to send it to me to pass along . I would be willing to do that if it is the only way . Kind of shakey when few of you know me well .
>There has been a memorial fund set up for them at a local banking facility that I would be more comfortable with .
I talked to them a few minutes ago . They can not accept credit card transactions over the phone . Donations must be mailed in the form of a check .

>His wife is going to have a rough go of it .No insurance , no cash reserves . An adopted son that requires 24/7 care and her and Ben's first son is due between Christmas and the 2nd week in January . Ironic that today is Ben's birthday.

Heck yes i,ll match that too. Some one passed the hat when i was down and here i can pay it forward.
