These two bullets are .65 in long, .4114 diameter. The one on the top is 144 grain, on the bottom 148 grain. Both have the form of a Lemat with the most salient difference being the curvature at the waist. Can anybody provide a positive identification?
Had a great day hunting relics this past weekend in South Carolina. Can anyone of you experts confirm the bullet type in the center for me? I would appreciate it very much.
Found this today in my back yard (Hunterdon County NJ). It appears to be a 3 ring bullet (two rings close together with a third ring closer to the base). It is about 18mm long with a diameter of about 7-8mm and a slightly concave base. There appears to be some markings on the base. It weighs...
Hi,
My husband and I recently purchased ground that contains what was once a well traveled trail, and river crossing. It has been in one family since about 1903 and that family wasn't into history so our side of the river hasn't had much if any exploration. We are looking forward to learning...
I found an old bullet this afternoon, although I am not sure how old it is, the things I have found at this site range from 1830s to now and it was found in NE Ohio. The width is about 8 mm, a bit more, and the length is a little less than 16 mm. I am not able to get much more precise...
Alrighty... the site I was hunting used to be a vineyard. Showed up on a map from the 1870s but not on any other maps (the map from before this one was 1850s and next one was early 1900s). There is a house in the area built in 1920 where I have found coins ranging from 1882 to modern clad. I was...
I found these Sunday and can't figure out the bullet, similar to a Picket, but not the caliber. Next, my dad has a Musket rifle and believes this squashed item could be a fired Musket ball, but he's not sure. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.
This was yesterdays, I was excited to find the Enfield. I found this other bullet, I don't believe I'm very familiar with it. Then I found this squashed thing lol. My dad has a musket rifle and he said it made him think of a fired musket ball. He didn't want to say for sure. If anyone has ideas...
I was out metal detecting in my woods when i found a bullet. It doesn't have a shell attached. It's just a small, conical bullet about 1/3 of an inch long. I would greatly appreciate any help in identifying this. Below is a photo of the bullet beside a penny for sizing.
So this appears to be a lot smaller than a 9mil and it looks decently old. I have found CW Bullets and more modern bullets at this park site. Maybe someone will be able to ID it for me...CannonballGUY I'm looking at you! HAHA
So I was at a park that is decently old. Not sure exactly how old. Here are three different bullets the smaller one is modern I'm sure but what is it? Also two lead bullets. One looks like an enfield. Let me know y'all. Thanks!
Here is the small cal.
Here is the mangled lead.
Here is...
Need help ID'ing Bullets I found today
Hi Guys,
I need help identifying two types of bullets please see the attached images. The big one looks to be 7/16 inch cal. The other is 5/16 inc cal. Just eyeball, did not use a caliper to get those measures.
Thanks much guys!
Was metal detecting a creek by my house and found these what I assume are bullets. I am assuming the small ones are 22 bullets but I have no idea or how old the others two are. Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE: JUST noticed there is writing on top! Be right back with another photo!
UPDATE 2: Here's the two new photos with writing on top:
Hey gang,
Took a 20 minute "hunt break" in my backyard just now and found a bullet fragment. We have lots of game here so it's unsurprising if it's...
