Found this small piece on the low tide line near the treasure coast. Look familiar to anyone? Very old, highly corroded.
Hello, my mum bought this in an auction ages ago because its quite cool and I was just wondering what it is/ how it might have formed? It's cirtainly iron and is very heavy for its size so I wonder if it's quite pure! I half thought it was a meteorite but it dosnt have scorch marks / a layer of...
Went tubing down a river that doesn't allow power boats and I pulled this up. mostly pretty shallow, anywhere from 1 foot deep to 10 or so along the whole thing. It is all metal and the inside piece comes out and only fits in one way. It is about 8 inches long.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
Hello everyone!
Happy Friday! I had a chance to do some detecting today at a very early house site. The site is on 1872 and 1883 maps. There were not many maps made of the aria but I know the house is atleast 1850s or older! The house is mostly gone exept for a perimiter wall and a bunch of...
Went to a Treasure Coast beach yesterday here in Florida. Besides the assorted bottle caps and a not waterproof Samsung Galaxy S10e under 5 inches of compacted sand at the water line, I found the two larger metal pieces also in the wet sand and have no idea about these two items. The pieces in...
Here are the highlights.... and lowlights (is that a word? It should be) of my most recent trip.. I post videos rather than photos because I'm a video producer and that's my forte. For those uninterested or too busy for the video: I went metal detecting at an area on Padre Island called Newport...
Hi ,
While out walking near some woods hidden under some old trees I found this metal sign. I posted it on here in the hope that someone can tell me what it is . I have googled and found nothing. I'm curious as to what it is. It is metal I have no idea of age. It's on a walkway but not a public...
I found this, which rings up as a pretty consistent 80 signal on my AT pro. It was found in an area that used to be colored quarters part of town, not a mine or anything like that, so I dont really think its silver but my interest is definitely peaked. Its heavy for its weight too... how can I...
Found this metal box with key. It's painted red on inside. Weight- It's very heavy- about 11 pounds.
Stamped into the metal on bottom: 1416; Made in Germany. On the center of bottom is a metal bell-like thing that appears to be brass.
I think it is a telegraph but not sure.
ALso, I found...
Hi all - was wondering if anyone had any insight into what this is. It is definitely metal, possible iron due to its rusty appearance. No markings whatsoever. Found in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
I live in a rural area, and running through my property is the old country road, now not used and almost grown over. But back in the 19th century, it was the way to get to town and was pretty busy. Is this a good place to metal detect and what kind of things could i expect to find here. Any help...
So I'm not only new to metal detecting but I also just moved to willcox arizona from pennsylvania. Looking for something to do I decided to get a metal detector. Where are some places in willcox I'm allowed to go ? Is there any clubs in willcox that anyone knows of?
Hi everyone, brand new member to the site, and recently got into rock collecting. I've been having a difficult time identifying a few rocks i've found, wondering if anyone could help me out.
Found this one on a beach in NY. seems to have little bits of muscovite on it also.
This one seems to...
Hi guys thanks in advance for your help. These were in some pails my grandpa used to store rocks or maybe artifacts. Would these just be a welding drip of some sort or a metal mineral specimen?
