Well I managed to get out the other day for the first time in a while. Hunting time has been very limited for me this year. I hope to get out a lot in the next few weeks though before old man winter arrives.

Anyhow, I hit one of my Rev War camps which I have beat pretty good. I didn't have high expectations as there are zero non-ferrous target sounds on the site to be heard on my explorer. I set out to dig those "funny" iron sounds (those who use the explorer know what I mean) and I managed to pull a couple of targets from the ground.

The button was my last signal so it saved the day! I have found several 60th buttons in the last few years, but this one is the best condition wise I have pulled yet.

Other finds included a cufflink, two shoe buckle pieces and a pewter spoon bowl. I have found pieces of about 20 different shoe buckles on this site, and NONE match up! hah Not sure how that happens!?

Thanks for looking.

Am hoping for a #2 Rev button soon.

To me that's what detecting is all about, finds like that, the ones that save the day! Congrats and hope you get out lots more.. My detecting this year is also very limited and slim pickins even when I get out..

wowza on the button! gorgeous!

A very nice find! I have a few War of 1812 buttons but I've not had the experience of digging a Rev war button.

Very cool.

Most Excellent!

That's a great button there! I've been hunting 6 years and have yet to find a decent Rev War button...still looking though!

That's a spectacular button, CD!!

Thanks folks. I have been spoiled with the last couple of sites I found I think, having walked home with a dozen nice Rev War buttons in a day and some other nice relics to go along with them. Sadly there aren't many sites like that, or at least I don't know where they are.

Heading to NY in a couple of weeks for my first hunt over there and hoping to dig some nice early U.S. coppers and colonial relics. Some military would be nice too :laughing7: I have zero expectations however...

Well with the area you are in I have no doubt they will come, and probably in bunches after you get your first one. Seems to work that way. I didn't find any for years, and then suddenly have a large collection. I think I have a good 50 or 60 Rev War buttons now.

nice finds ....congrats!
