Hello Everyone,

It was a terrific day for me today with the oldies. I was pulling silver/wheaties from the turf as if they were clad coinage. I met Mike(ratman) and Curt(Bibleman) at a park in the Valley today. It was hot outside, but I really didn't feel it. The silver kept coming out along with about 30 wheaties. This was from a park I had only found 3 silver coins prior. By 10 in the morning, I had 6 silvers, and I just knew it was going to be a great day for me. I left the park at around 2:30 with 11 silvers (5 mercs (oldest was a '20s), 1 '45 Washington, 5 rosies). I then met a couple other hunting buddies at a park where I managed a 53 Rosie on my last dig before walking back to my car.

It doesn't get any better than this for the silver at a heavily hunted park. I think I will go back tomorrow and see if I left any.

With the wheat cents I dug today, I now have over 2000 for the year (2nd pic; that's almost 2 large peanut jars full!!) That's a 4.5 wheatie per silver coin average.

Thanks for looking,
CAPTN SE
Dan

Alright Dan thanks for inviting me over to treasurenet seems a cool site with loads going on and people finding some great stuff (like a 12 Silver day) ;)
Oh BTW that list you've got up there is getting a little close to knocking me out ;D ;D
Go on knock um all out.

Capt, you got me beat by around1970 .I better start digging. Amazing finds and lots of work. Congrats bigtime.

I've been detecting for 2 years now and have found over 3,000 coins,,,probably 25 have been wheats. I find it utterly amazing that you've found over 2,000 wheats in 8 months. Incredible.
Keep it going

Wow! That's a lot of wheat thrashin!! ;D

Hi Cap:

Congrats on on your good hunting. I got your e-mail and thanks for agreeing with me.
Have you been keeping a log of your finds from the beginning?? I started a log in 1966 till 1982. I quit when I hit 100,000 coins, it took 16 years but the 70's were some fantastic years for hunting. When I hit 100,000 I was working a picnic grounds that was like being in a comp. hunt. The coins were only 2" deep and were thick. I had 986 coins for 2 days and about 200 silver. I didn't get an accurate silver count because my wife dumped her silver in with mine before I got a count. That was the good old days though. Keep on diggin and good luck in the future.

Les
