I finally was able to visit my 1715 honey hole for a longer period of time this past weekend, really my first good time spent there in 2016. I had been itching to visit it in detail with Spring growth just beginning, and I was worried I would miss the opportunity to visit certain areas of it. Luckily I was still able to get into spots I was not able to last Fall. My determination paid off and I was rewarded with some nice Colonial period relics, a sweet KGI Halfpenny with a legible date, as well as a first, a Carson City mint marked coin!!

Nice little display case you put together for the owner... very nice of you to do that and I'm sure they really appreciate it!

Congrats on the finds :icon_thumleft:

Great hunt. I love the seated CC, a bucket lister

Very nice assortment of quality finds. Very well done. Congrats.

Psst: That CC is sweet!

Thanks, I enjoy doing it, and I like to share the things I find. Also, to be honest, it is part of my "sales pitch" when I door knock and get new permissions. I have one I put together to show them. I find that other than myself, the property owner is usually just as interested if not more about the history of their property.

The old hole continues to pay off!!! Great finds and may they continue for you!!!

Now that is an awesome site you all have. Keep the great finds coming!!!

Wonderful site to hunt and excellent recoveries. I watched the first part of the video and didn't have time to watch all of it, but I love the display you made for the landowners. Did you just print the page on the back? I've had permission to detect a boy scout camp water hole for nearly two years and just haven't been able for one reason or another to get over there and it's nearly 100 miles round trip for me. I told the man I talked to that I wanted to make a display for the scouts with any scout memorabilia and this sure gives me some ideas. Hope to make it over there this winter when the swim hole isn't in use by the scouts because I don't want to get in their way when they are trying to have fun. I planned to keep any coins I found but after seeing your display I will certainly include some in the display. Should be able to find a decent display at hobby lobby.

I put the items in the display in their "final" position. (I use a double sided tape, firm, but can be taken off at a later date) Then I take a picture of it and put the picture in a word document I have set up so that the page size is the same size as the display. Then around the outside edge of the picture, I have text labeling all of the items. This is especially important with the old sites as outside our community most land owners don't know what stuff is from the 1700's and 1800's. It also allows me to put in a date range for them to put the items in context. You can't really see the text in the video but it is there. I also take a picture of the house, and "age" it with software and put that in the display.
