1773 spanish reale: A first for me!!

After plucking a couple buttons and many nails, persistence paid off and gave me this beauty of history. However...does anyone know what denomination it could be? I've learned it's usually embossed on the obverse at about 10:00 (4R or 8R). This only has letters. Anyone have any knowledge about this? We also got a homemade reale that has "1R" scratched into it and some great buttons which I'll post when my wife can teach me how to do it. Thanks.

A nice Half Real, they had no denomination on them, your coin was minted at the Mexico City Mint.

The silver coin is known as a Real, it only becomes a Reale when you get more than one, thus a 2 Reale is the plural for one Real. The most common spanish silver found is the half real and than the one real.
