I dig my share of junk, but I go to mainly colonial sites. Most of what you dig at these spots, relics included, you know are going to be old. It's kind of like an 8 hr. hunting video that cuts to the kill! :laughing9: :laughing7:

Just fun-ing with you
You do your homework and it pays off

What an awsome copper :notworthy: In fact the coin is so awsome, I cant see any corrosion on the front :icon_scratch:

nice clean up!!!!! MR TUFF

Awesome NJ! I must have missed the post when you found it. Another one found outside of NJ, and still none for me in the state! I am jealous!

Did you report this one to Don in SJ for his survey?

Congrats on the find, it is a real beauty!

Nice lookin Jersey there!

Wish all old copper came out looking this good. Very nice find :)

Your NJ copper is about as nice as a ground found copper can be, wish we could remove that corrosion crud on the horse's head, it can be removed but sometimes it leaves pockmarks where it was, so perhaps best to just prevent it from spreading. I believe some say to bake the coin, but I have never tried it. My one very rare KGIII counterfeit has numerous smaller blobs like that and I just distilled water soaked it for a day or two, in hopes it was neutrlized for awhile. Otherwise, I am sure we all would love to find any state colonial in as good of shape as your find was.

Thanks for the help Don. I'll use that method all the time now.

Why wasnt this awesome coin on the banner ?
I appreciate the thought Allen, and eventhough it is in awesome shape, it's just not banner material. Now if it was an M-13j.......the coin would be going to Stacks.
