1800's coin at my new site & My surprise hunting guest outdid me!!! L@@K
I invited a fellow TN member (a Yankee from Ohio) to come hunt this new plantation spot with me.
You all know him as "MIRAGE" (Bob). At first my wife was worried because I invited a stranger, and possible "serial killer" to stay at our home.
Well let me just say, Mirage is one of the nicest guys we've ever met, and is welcome here anytime.
We started out our hunt at about 9:00am when it was foggy, misty, and a tad bit cold. By the end of the day it was sunny, 60's, and we were in t-shirts.
Our hunt started out slow but soon picked up. My first hit was a Bull Durham watch FOB complete with chain. Bob picked up a beautiful "V" nickel in the same spot I found my 1901 last week. YOU DOG!
I won't tell you what year, but let's just say his is older than mine, and WAY better shape.
We worked the yard areas, a little in the woods by the old tenant house, and a flat enclosed horse area that used to be the farming area. The old CW road ran through this part. I had just started hunting it and I found the lead shot pictured. I signaled for Bob to come inside and told him about the old CW road. Folks, it wasn't two minutes after that I hear Bob yelling at me, "Come here, you won't believe it!" I'm not going to tell you what he found, but let's just say it's his oldest coin in his hunting career, and it blew my 1800's coin away by 100 years!!!
I was so happy for him, as it sure made his trip worthwhile. Here at "Club Miner" we aim to make all our guests happy and feel at home.

O.k., now for my finds:
*"F. Hoyt & Co. Perfumers - New York" early 1900's perfume bottle. I found this on the surface down by the dried river bed by the tenant house.
*A "Bull Durham" watch FOB with chain. Say's "Warranted 14K Gold Plated" on the back. 1940's I believe. I found one last year also at the farm down the road.
*No Date Buff nickel
*Two IH's - 1893 (Yeah, Baby) , and a 1906.
*Wheats- 1918 , 25 , 35 , 50.
*"Extra Colour" 19mm flat button. Circa early to mid-1800's.
*LEAD- Asst'd pieces that I could use some help IDing please.
-Hollow lead tube. Any idea what this is?
-Small round lead piece with piece attached to the back. CW? Any ideas?
*A very old 18th century lead-alloy button . It is approx. 28mm.
(Thanks Crusader for the ID)
*Toy legs from a ballerina?
*Spoon - Silver plated with "Wm. Roger's - Overlaid - IS" back mark. Age?
*Large iron "V" shaped piece with three indents by the hole. Looks like a tool of sorts.
Any idea?
*Harmonica reeds. Found by tenant house in woods.
*And last but not least, a beautiful 1921 Silver Dollar given to me from Mirage as a birthday gift & hospitality. I told you he was a great guy!!!

Thanks again Bob. It was great to finally meet you, and please come back anytime. Bring Nate with you next time too.
Thanks everybody,
MM
