1857 Seated Dime, Great Shape, it's a Love Token.

Spent 2 hours going low & slow with the joey coil & TTF around a 'New To Me'
foundation, a center hearth with massive granite doorstep
Just as I was about to pack it up after finding two buttons amonst the iron,
I get a good surface signal next to a sapling, move some leaves, spot the coin.
Pushed out by the roots, or flew off someones shovel (mine?) I don't know,
many times a root snaps unexpectedly and my plug goes skyward
Anyway, a nice coin with some not so romantic handwork on the reverse.
(when I remove that black stuff stuck to it)
searched around another hour & got a spoon handle, sheeps bell, broken plow point
& an oxshoe.
Happy with this hunt!
My first 'Successful' foundation dig, (this one is pretty remote, & not on all maps)

Very nice hunt Herbie,Love the love token... Looks like you done well on your foundation hunt. Roots can be a pain for sure I find myself in them some this time of year as well.And it never fails me seems like every good tone is under the biggest root around.

That is a sweet find nice button to. I found a love token myself this spring made of a 1 dollar gold coin it has sodder on it in two places. a fella said he could get it off but i dont wanta mess with it. Probley my find of a lifetime. Heres a pic sorry its so big i dont know how to down size. Any way thats a super find Congrats

I have one other tiny button with that starbust backmark, found in same town,
different site.
the larger one is also interesting, the squared edge and the circle of crosses or clubs is a first seen for me,
It's good to be pulling tiny buttons from the iron patch, lets you know you're doing something right
