Finally got out for a few hours this morning. Went to the site that I found my Mass State Copper. It's just a riverside with some nice early history. First good signal was a nice low 90s signal and I was ready for some old silver. Well it was silver but not old, 1949. I hate to say I was disappointed but when you're in a spot that could be hiding Spanish silver you don't expect a Washington. Next signal I dug was a fairly low number and I figured it was another headstamp but it was a small Tombac with a really unique design. Not sure what it is about the design but I love this button. Found a few round balls and a broken spoon. Then I got a nice signal with a high number and out popped my first ever Barber coin, an 1896 quarter that has incredible detail. A signal right beside it gave up a 1907 IH. Felt good to finally get out for a decent hunt. Was hoping for some old coins but can't complain with what I found. It's funny that this is my first Barber coin and first Washington silver. I've found 10 or 12 coins from the 1700s so it's a bit backwards. Best of luck out there everyone, Abe
