I just got a 1916 merc from a teller, problem the back is worn so i cant tell if i am seeing a d or an s. odds are it is an s but what if? what do you guys think? I would hate to spend the money to get it graded if it is going to be a 1916 s in bad shape

It's def an s homie

An S but thanks for sharing your nice find!

I concur on S.

I'd have to say that looks like an S for sure. Love the mercs.

Definitely an s.

This is an S , you can tell by the up tic on the upper right corner of the letter -Every S displays this , and no D does !

:unhappysmiley: Sorry dude to tell you this but I agree with everyone else. It's definately a "S". It has a curve to it on the left side not a straight down line like a "D" would have. It's still a nice find.

yep, $14-$20 on ebay, someone will buy it and turn it into a D!
