First I want to thank Vino for helping me with the settings on the XP Deus. Thanks a lot!

This is my haul from the last few days -2 fields containing 3 sites. I'm still new to the Deus and trying it out on my heavily hunted colonial fields. I really had the Deus fined tuned yesterday with help from Vino. Got the 1817 large cent, the GII halfpenny and the 2 Spanish cut reales yesterday on a 6 hour hunt. All the stuff in the pouch came out yesterday and I am convinced there are more silver pieces waiting in the iron beds.

Awesome finds bud love that old silver...

Well your kind Vino but really it was your settings that opened my mind. I picked these sites because of the insane amounts of iron and as I was saying over in the Deus forum. The LOWER I set the sens in the thick iron spots the more signals I got. I changed the TX pwr to 1 and as I said ran ZERO disc and ground at 2 below true value and I could not move for signals. Now most of em were lead bits but any of those couldve been a cut piece on edge. Dont think most people could deal with all the noise but thats what it took to wake up the site.

Now we need XP to come up with a setting to quiet down all the signals say 10 and under but at the same time with ZERO conventional disc. Then we'd have a monster!

Most people have told me not to try to create good signals from bad ones but thats exactly the point of this program. Amazing how the crappy signals became beautiful after disturbing the ground.
That's a fantastic result from a hunted site. You're dead on about those iffy signals. Normally you can just move a tiny bit of the top soil and it will tell the tale. You're doing great with that Deus. Maybe you can teach Vino how to find Spanish silver:laughing7:. You talk about quieting down the low number signals. Part of the new T2 SE upgrade is a 4 volume iron setting. You can have the iron signal very quiet or mute them out from what I understand. I think it's a great idea and can't wait to try it out. Keep up the great work my friend. Looking forward to your future posts, Abe

If you lower that iron volume down to 2 the signals will come in better.
At 3 it distorts it..IMO..

See! You bet your butt I will do this later in the week when I revisit this site. Its the perfect site for these tests because you can just walk back and forth on the same spot and keep getting signals with your program! Thats one setting I never fooled with.

What a pile of really cool finds!

Thanks Abe. Ive been detecting for almost 25 years so I have a lot of experience its just the Deus is very new to me. With the Deus I can control the volume of iron (10 VDI and below I think) but my understanding is its directly related to a users custom level of discrimination. So if i set disc at 3 then anything 3 and below can me controlled - this all the way to 10. Unfortunately if I turn the disc to zero I have to listen to all the iron from 1-10 at the same volume as all the goodies above. Vino may know more about this and correct me if I am wrong.

Very nice pile of early finds, especially the cut silver. Not too often you see those 60-deg wedges.

Great pile of colonial nectar! Love to find cut silver like those. You got some buttons there that I would love to find too.

Some seriously great old finds there ! What a site you're into there .

Great results with the Dues, congrats on the two cut pieces and the coppers and finds.

VERY nice finds!
that new machine is working right!!
Right on-the-money, that is!!!

The bronze piece is from a barrel tap. Congrats on the cut silver, beautiful cufflink, and some killer coppers!

Nice group of finds, the cut silvers and the buttons are awesome! Thanks for the set-up info I'll have to try it the next time I go out.

Nice pile of relics there...still looking for my pie Spanish but don't mind pulling out whole ones until then...the cut ones tell a different story and have character... Congrats

Very nice and great finds, congrats!

Thanks for the ID. Was trying to imagine what part it would be and I found a good idea.

I Love Pie !, and the rest of your finds too. Guess you'll have to wait out the hunters but you gotta be itchin' . Best of luck.

Itchin' is right! I just got permission for a new site which I already investigated and its virgin. Got new info that shows its the birthplace of an important colonists but thats as much as I can say without divulging the location. The place is strewed with colonial pipe and it appears to date to the late 17th century. So cool. Same deal though. MUST WAIT TIL FEB! The good news is its cut over beans and the farmer wont be planting wheat.

15 stars large cent

I don't think anyone has noticed it yet, but there is something special about that 1817 Coronet Head cent you dug. It has 15 obverse stars instead of 13. This particular die variety of 1817 is the only one in the whole series with 15 stars, and is worth a premium as such. Cool find!
