Ok. its official we have a spot to dig and camp. The original spot that I hoped for would be camp private property and dig BLM. That location fell through.
Fortunately I have gotten access to some BLM land via private property. I have a friend who's father has generously given access to a family claim.
This claim has been owned by the same family for more than a decade there is a lot of history of mining in the area and it is a cool geologic area and on a gold producing creek. One of the best in El Dorado County.
There is ample room to camp with some access from fording the creek with 4x4 and walking in. We will be prepping a LIVE MUSIC area. And a cooking/bonfire area.
Otherwise this will be a PRIMATIVE CAMP we may dig a latrine and will make sure to provide limited potable water if we can. Otherwise it will be B.Y.O. COMFORT and everything. Firewood will not be an issue fires will be allowed at individual campsites as well.

The entire event digging, camping, and all will be on BLM land anyone attending assumes all regulation and liability!!!!!!!!!
There are a few rules and details to discuss in private.

Main rules are
NO METAL DETECTORS

NO DREDGES

No dogs that can't handle a common camp.. (owner flat out says PITBULLS = MUZZLE but we can talk)

So, I wanted a good shindig. I tried last year because of the mining summit but, alas we had like 20 people. I can ramp up and plan lots of fun if this thing grows any legs...I wanted this year for the private property to charge a for sure fee to weed out flakes and give owner some cash. With all proceeds including a Bazooka raffle to go to the Bnuggets (Brandon Rinehart)Legal fund and do a small grocery/can food donation to his family. I contacted him so he would know. It looks like I jumped the gun and it won't be quite what I wanted. I invited him and will remind him before the weekend.

Like I said I can orchestrate manage and plan. Depending on who contacts me we can potluck, have a raffle, get info out whatever this is just a way for me to try and get people who love gold prospecting/mining together, make connections and spread knowledge and brother(sister)hood.

So, we have a spot! The attendance and hardiness is up to the individual miner. I will answer general questions on the thread and technical info via P.M.

There will be panning sluicing and power sluicing. I will see if I can get a couple scoops of material even.
There will be a lot of bazooka's around but, please feel free to bring whatever gear you run. I might even set up a finishing/clean up station and panning tubs.

DATES April 10-11-12

Location El Dorado Co. 6 mi. from Coloma details given to firm attendees

I look forward to hearing from any interested miners:headbang:

So what's the head count looking like? I was gonna bring my big highbanker but I need at least two other people to help feed it. Let me know who all are interested. If not I'll bring up a smaller unit I can run alone.
Bring your big one Brandon. I was gonna run mine but I'll just help you with yours. I'm sure we can get one more volunteer. What time are you gonna show up. I might start with mine and open up a spot then we can set yours up.

Well, I believe I deserved all I got. You all be safe and have fun. And get lots of gold. I hope I can make it up for the next one.

Wil there be potable water and bathroom facilities? Got to pack up tomorrow and need to know what to bring
looks like a great spot. How far down stream are we allowed to work? By the sky view, it looks like big bedrock boulders downstream from the road. Readin up in the history of that creek got me into a fever!

creek water and bushes

I'm gonna try and head up Friday after work so I'll be there 6-7 I hope. Sounds like a fun weekend.

NOT posting the exact location is a VERY SMART thing to do! I know everyone is going to have a lot of fun ! be safe!

Can I bring my goats? Are explosives allowed instead of metal detectors lol

I am super bummed to report that we won't be able to make. It's just too crazy of a month for us especially with medical stuff going on. I expect everyone to take awesome pics in my stead! If there's any change between now and the send off time I'll check in with you guys and get the location and info.

Well, at least we are going to make it down to Goldhounds tomorrow for the first time. That makes up for it a bit.

Maybe next time Gilded! Hope you have a gold weekend. Can't beat the weather!

Karen & I will be there Saturday. We are in Yosemite still today and will pull out in the morning and start heading to the Bash :evil6:

I think I sent the address to everyone who said they wanted to attend. If I missed anyone let me know.

Sorry for the late reply, hope I haven't missed out. I didn't think I'd be able to make it as I've been trying to finish up an epic remodel in my living room before the new sofa arrives, but I'm very nearly finished so I think I can tear myself away for a few hours on Saturday. Would like to come out and dig a few holes with you guys if that's ok.

Hey come on up. i am sure they wont beat you too hard. Great group so far. Gold in every test pan as well. Water is plentiful. Access not bad at all. Great camping spots

So is the poison oak! Bring your juice if you got it. Not bad in camp.

As much as I wanted to make it down there, it's just not
gonna happen this year.

Reed: Thank you for the offer of camping on your Ore. claim
for the night. Hope I can get a raincheck!

Y'all have fun, be safe and find lots of AU to take pics of...:occasion14:

Good luck and tons of fun to everyone! If I didn't live 4000 miles away I would have not missed this. Sounds like it's gonna be a great time. Be safe and enjoy the weekend!
