With summer in full gear I have been doing more boating and such summer activities. However I have been getting out for an hour here and there. I purposely have been trying to score some clad lately. Good clad spots are hard to find around here. So my thoughts turned to my childhood when we had our summer football workouts. We use to go up to the local convenient store and buy lots of gum. So we must have had $.....Anyway the spot turned up many Quarters. As you will see from the picture the Quarter stack dwarfs the puny merc. It was great to get a site that cranked out quarters and dimes with very few pennies. 22 Quarters in the stack. ;D After that site Nate and I hit a regular school and I got my silver fix with the Merc. 8)

The other neat find was the 3000 hits by Eddy Murray. I remember watching that game 12 years ago. Time flies.

Last two pics are from a recent fishing trip on my boat Nate and I did on Lake Erie.

Beautiful photos!

Looks like a well rounded summer so far!

Nice Merc!

Ridley

Good job on the wilver! What position were you in football? Running back?

Really nice pics Bob!
It's funny you say that about the Merc being your wilver fix. I just got back from a lunchtime hunt (same spot I took you to) and worked further back into the woods and got my fix w/ a 61 Rosie and a 41 Merc.
Did you guys score any 'Eyes?

awesome photos! great finds too...what more can a person ask for?? :D :D

Dude, I was middle linebacker for two years and then they put me on the offensive line. That's when I stopped having fun and quit.

Dan,
We got 5 eyes that trip. Lost 3. I think we wasted a lot of time dragging perch/white bass. Everytime we checked the lines there was a fish on. All in all a good trip.

Bob

Well, they needed a big, buff man on the line to protect the quarterback...me...:D that is what I played.

Good job, bud!

Nice pics! What I fondly remember about Eddie Murray was his struggle against the Pirates in the 79 Series. Had he done anything, the Orioles probably win. Still, he's a Hall of Famer; cool find.

Nice sunset and gotta love those quarters!!

Nice finds Bob, clad hunts are fun especially when it's there to find, LOL! I really like the boat and the fishing sounds great! Do you ski with the boat as well? HH, Mike

Nice Haul Dan, Really like the water pictures. I found 54 quarters a few weeks ago at a local school they are tearing down.

I'm in Mich. the next two weeks, hope to do a lot of water hunting. I brought along a 5 horse Evinrude boat motor and am renting a small boat. There's more than one way to skin a cat, got to get out to those boat swim area's.

Have a good one and keep cool. HH, Ringfinder ( Denny )

Bob, looks like you and Nate are making the most of your summer.
Really nice pics and a nice haul of clad!! :)
Congrats & HH

Nice finds Mirage,

You gotta put some time aside for other things other than detecting. It's not healthy to do anything a ton. I take little breaks to.

Boating and fishing would be nice to get out and do. It is really hot and rough right now.

HH Jeremy

Bob I hate to tell you this...I think it was for his 3,000 strikeouts!!! ;D

Just kidding

Cubs fan!

great finds! love the silver. the last pic. is awesome gotta enjoy the water, and sunsets like that one also. titan 8)

Bob,
At first I thought your post said "3000 Hits By Eddie MURPHY". I didn't remember Eddie Murphy having that many hits. ;D
Nice job on the Merc. I'm dying to find another soon.
Now let's come clean on the reason you were clad hunting. It was to pay for gas for that boat, wasn't it? ;D
I found a great older school to MD at down where Ridley and I were last w/end. It's full of clad and who knows what? I broke away from hunting for relics, and hit that for about 30 minutes. Definitely need to go back.
Congrats on all the quarters too.

Pretty cool to find a commemorative pin from something you witnessed. Nice digs Bob, grats on all the nice coins and stuff!

Smiles!
