303 Year old Silver!! *UPDATED Pics

Man what a day. Decided to go out after work for a few hours to pound some fields i've been detecting for a while now. Decided to concentrate on the perimeters of the fields and wound up hitting pay dirt with my first ever spanish silver AND my oldest coin all at once. I though it was a gaming token (I didn't find anything else all day). It was an honest 10+ inches down but the explorer sniffer her out real good. Still can't believe Im holding something thats 303 years old. Colonial silver at its best! Man this thing is a beaut. Thanks for looking!

I would think any 300 plus year old silver coin found in this country should be a banner find, plus it's in pretty damn good shape too....awsome find. I would have soiled ones self if I found that.

SUPER Jim! Just finding a 2 Reale is nice enough but to get one that old and in that great condition, makes a hunt like that so special. BUT, isn't it time you start fishing and beach hunting!!

Thanks all for the kind words. Still can't believe I dug something this old and silver to boot! This one is going in a special case of its own. Im hoping theres room for one more spanish up top :P. Don fishing doesn't start for a few weeks now! Told myself im splitting fishing and dirt fishing this year 50/50. Thanks again.

I used to stop detecting when May came around, then it was time to ride road bicycle just about every day of the week, before work, after work, during work, ah addictions. Wish I could still do it. I guess the fields will be getting all be in crop eventually or cover crop at minimum, so go enjoy your fishing later and some beach hunting with your Mom.........

I believe a die crack was spotted between D & G on your coin, it might be worth your time to check into if having that die crack might make it special for that year, you never know.........
