Sorry to post so many updates, but I can only post one picture per post on my iPhone right now... The conclusion...this is our first clean out of a few...I really love the gold up here. If you zoom in you can see it is 3D!!! All the gold on the other Rivers i prospect are ultra flat and smooth. View attachment 1079991 Hope everyone is having a good weekend, heavy pans all!

No problem, we love seeing the photos. Keep at it!

Headed back out with the dredge and my son on Saturday. Weather should be ok, River will be lower than last time, hopefully we can get down to bedrock and find a few cracks!! Got my wetsuit, water lines and will test the heat exchange while out. Hopefully all goes well and we get a little color to show! Last day of the Dredge season anywhere near me, so last dredge trip unlit July:(. Wish us good luck and good weather, I'll take photos and update when we are back!

So, we made it out!!! Crystal clear skies, 31 degrees, low water...what more can you ask for!!!

Fired up the dredge, got it tethered to 2 anchor points, then started to tune the heater...that part, not successful:). It made the 33 degree water up to about 50ish, which is way to cold to pump into my wetsuit, so we went with out heat. Next, after the heat failure, came my wetsuit. The new bottoms I got are amazing, and my booties are great too, so I got a 7mm farmer john to wear over them. Broke the damn zipper before I even got them zipped up...sh*t. Couldn't get the tops to work so just spent the day working a bedrock chunk that I could work while not getting fully submerged.

From 2' to 4' deep. I used my mask so I could see, but it was kind of a pain in the butt. I really found the limits of my dredge today. There is no efficient way to run that sized dredge with 1 person, and my son is still learning how to tend above (he is super easily distracted, just like me, so he doesn't notice when the sluice's flow changes or the motor tone changes yet.).

All in all we had a blast, and no energy left to do a clean up tonight, so the gold porn (if there is any:) will be tomorrow morning!!

Cheers!

Starting to feel it set in...been over 7 weeks since I've been out. The dredge is neatly packed away in the shed, and I'm working 6 days a week. Sunday is family day, so no digging then. Hope for nice weather for next weekend...[emoji295]️[emoji295]️[emoji295]️

Fantastic picture of the sky and snow-covered mountain. Other than freezing in the water due to mechanical problems and not much gold, it looks like you had a great day!

So, dredge season opens on my favorite river next Saturday, and boy is the water low! It was reporting 9.3 CFS yesterday before we had a little rain last night, so it went up to 13, but is dropping fast again. I couldn't help but do a little preseason testing to make sure the pump, engine and compressor were all still happy and healthy....and I can report that all are running like a charm! New oil and new spark plug, removed the heat, and here it is in our little backyard pool! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1437935128.047284.jpg
I'm so anxious to get in the river and get that GOLD!!

Cheers!

We got out to the river and even got a little gold! Got way back and around a good sized Boulder. The raging river always gives up a little color. Saw some other folks out with a 2" I think.

Got out to the river about 730, and by 815 had the dredge running. Ran 5 hours or so and had a nice lunch on the river. I had high hopes we were going I get to the hard pan I have run into on that river before, but we didn't. Here is a picture of the hole, and some flakes running down my concentrator table. Well that's something I never saw. Great idea BTW! So, do you let the family use the dredge tester when you're not using it? :laughing7:

Got out again today with my son!! I only did 2 pans of the cons, but had a couple shiny indicators:)

We dredged the inside bend of the gravel bar in the back ground. After getting down a couple feet we ran in to a iron rich layer, then into some 3" thick clay. Looked pretty good, and it was all in a trap behind a boulder that is sub surface. 5 hours on the dredge today, and 2 tanks of gas. Pictures to come when clean up is done!!

So dredging is closed in all of the rivers that I have access too. It closed due to drought, and danger to fish. I'm ok with that. We did get to go out the day before closure, and we managed a little gold too! Lots of fun at the river with my kiddo! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1439657487.956995.jpg
