So this was my 4th time out and I went to a new site that I've been researching. Very long walk but along the ocean and absolutely beautiful. Here are today's finds. The silver is a canadian 25 cent piece and I can make out 87 on it where the date would be. These are the last two numbers so I'm assuming this is an 1887 which I see is a very low mintage. I'm thinking rather than trying to do anything to this one maybe I should let a pro handle this one. Found a very old copper as well but I can't I.d. It.

If you see 87 , then yes you have an 1887 Canadian 25 cent key date. The condition it's in would put it at 100-125 $

Am I able to take it somewhere to have it professionally cleaned ? I'm not going to sell anything but would like it displayed as nicely as possible. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Its really a self preference if you want to have it cleaned or not... Remember its going to cost around $100 to have it cleaned and graded.... So if its worth $150 you'll only make $50 if you sell it... I personally would not have it cleaned I just rinse my silver coins with just water for the most part. Again, its your call in the end...

Keep @ it and HH !!

Honestly I cleaned my Slq like an idiot and decreased the value 75$ just with baking soda and my finger. I would sell as is. I yet to sell any of my finds except to common silver rosies

Yeah I'm just going to keep all my finds anyway but I certainly don't want to do any damage. I've been know to make some "idiot" decisions so I appreciate all of the good feedback guys. I was just psyched to dig my first silver coin. My second time out I found an 1820 large cent and a kg Irish half penny so I'm feeling pretty good about things. I have done a hell of a lot of research locally and it's paying off so far!
