Absolutely. One of my favorite places to go in the Smokeys. Since you're only going for a weekend you likely won't have time but on the North Carolina side of the National park is Cataloochee.. Another of my favorites. That may be closed for the season at this time though since it's 12 miles of bad twisty dirt roads to get in there. Here's a couple pics from Cataloochee this past Fall. Also check out Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville. The worlds biggest knife store and the relic room in the basement has a great selection of Civil War and older stuff all for sale. Some nice display cases for sale as well. My best friend works there but she's off on weekends or I'd tell you to say hi.Take a drive to Cades Cove..you'll like it.
Middle of October, right in the middle of the rut.. This was taken the day after I was there by a good friend of mine... The big bull that's in the road was more concerned with herding his ladies back across the road than with the people taking pictures but everyone kept their distance. You must have been there in late Fall?
That red Chevy is lucky that bull's not coping an attitude, or
feeling romantic....he'd mess that little Blazer up bad.
Rutting elk are nothing to fool with....
