Hello everyone!
It was cold today here in Michigan, about 40 degrees, but no wind and no rain so out I went. I hit a schoolyard in the richie rich part of town, one I hit in the spring. See if she had replenished at all. I also had a backup plan just in case I was finding nothing, but I didn't need it. I hit the woodchip areas and finds were sort of slow and I saw traces that another detectorist had been there also since I hit it in the spring. I had some holes that were soft and obviously dug and filled lately with the trash replaced in the bottom...grrr. Not my holes, I remove and dispose of 100% of my dug trash. Anyway, I kept at it and didn't give up. That paid off in the end!
I ended up with $7.34 with 79 coins in 4 hours of total searching time. I didn't know it until I cleaned up the finds, but I had a Sac dollar in my pouch. I had a medium amount of trinket jewelry, a ring, an earring, 5 pendants, and a couple pins. I also found a huge nail, like 11 inches long and made of galvanized steel. Must be a landscaping nail.
For the first two and half hours or so, I had no keepers but I kept at it and finally on the last set of swings in the last woodchip area I hit paydirt. A sweet kids 14kt gold ring. It's got a diamond cut face and is very pretty. Digging everything paid off on this as it was directly underneath a large twisted piece of steel. The other detector dude probably hit it and chose not to dig because it was an iron signal. Cha ching!

For the last hour or so I hit the grassy areas around the front of the school by the bus pick up areas and between the woodchips and the parking lot, and next to the school building. Between the woodchips and parking lot is where I got my second keeper, a nice sterling ring with three stones, green, white, and red, sweet! Finally, I got a surprise, a 1959D Roosie found up next to the building. This school opened in the 1950's sometime, so I guess there's some silver coins still around, yeah!
It was great to be out there whatever the outcome.
Winter's still holding off and I hope to get out some more before the ground freezes but I am really happy with today's luck and if this is it for the year, what a way to end it!
Coolcash, I will post my new clad totals once more whan the ground finally freezes as I posted my totals as of last weekend already in your thread. Come on everyone, post your 2006 clad dug totals in Coolcash's thread. We are trying to see how much face value money was found this year by TNet members.
