Got my first Silver coin. A ugly 1938-D Merc, but you know what...It's dang pretty to me ;D

Both nickels are 64's and I also got a very ugly 40ish wheat cent. A few of my lincolns are from the 59-64 range, so I bet there is more silver in that park. Lots of trash, but I am digging deeper and clearer signals with the new DD1400.

3 Hour Hunt =

1 Merc
1 Wheat
4 Quarters
8 Dimes
2 Nickels
22 Pennies

Two reasons not to complain.

1. My first merc looked way worse.

2. At least you can dig out there. The ground is like concrete here in PA.

None the less, CONGRATS on your merc. My second merc looked much better than my first.

WTG Stormtrooper! Its been awhile for me since I dug silver down here in Eugene. Not as much history as back east, but ah well, we do what we can eh? :D There'll be more, for sure. Keep an eye out for those sidewalk tearups up there, your hunting grounds are older than most here in Oregon. :)

You broke the barrier... did someone already say that?

WTG!!! That thing is beat... LMAO, but that thing is YOURS!!!!! :D

Congrats on your first silver.

That must be a rough park, looks like they even beat up the coins.

Good! Your persistence has been rewarded; there will be more!

599 more to go and another Merc! Just kiddin, theres no stoppin now, hope lots of silver ahead for you! HH

Way to go Storm! You are on a roll! I still haven't found a Merc, so I can imagine what you are feeling. I think she has alot of character with all those dings. It almost looks intentional. Congrats man!

HH,
Moon

my first silver was a February 2006 merc too Storm!!

Many more to come...just keep at it and be confident.

WTG, Storm!! I havn't found any silver yet, but I'm so used to seeing those yucky colored clad coins, that if I did ever see anything silver I probably just faint, :o

;) RR

Good job , man. Did you get it with the 1400? I just got mine. I haven't found silver with it yet. How deep was it? Pretty exiting stuff. Are you getting noticably deeper with the 1400? Cant wait to get mine out there soon and start dragging in the deep stuff. If you make it to Eugene, look up me and oddcoins. We'll take you out to some good places. Peace, bro.

I don't think there is such a thing as an ugly Merc! HH!

Please don't field clean your silver coins...

And congratulations on your first silver!!!

That Merc's got character! I LIKE IT!!

Yeah, if you ever make it down south here let us know! Wayne & I got the inside track on where the treasures are in the Eugene area! After 13 years of detecting this town I've got enough places lined up that we almost ALWAYS find something cool!

I'm still working on doing a hunt up in the Portland area ~ We go to P-town pretty regularly but I usually just end up hanging out with my family and not getting out to detect!

Later dude!

It's not that the DD 1400 gets more depth physically....but it cuts out almost all of the bad ground mineralization that we have here. So the stuff I was getting very weak and crappy signals on in the past are now clear and strong. This coin was at about 6-7" and sounded off strong like a clad dime. I knew it was a dime before digging, but very surprised to see it when I got it out. I will make sure I contact you guys if i ever make it down that way. Please do the same if you come up here.

Thanks for all the WTG's guys. I knew the day would come, just takes time. I actually found this coin in a park I picked out just to do a clad hunt to practice pinpointing the new coil...I guess there is a little more history then I thought ;D

Way to go Trooper! 8) It didn't take you long at all to find that first silver! 8)

Congrats! Nana :)

Congratulations
