A big gripe for me on California beaches is the buried soda cans! I dig them all up and place them next to the trash for the recyclers to pick up. On the non-metallic side I detest with extreme prejudice the women leaving diapers in the sand! ??? Oh..make me a cop for a day and I would write them all up! :hello2:

I hunt in all metal too!!! we take all our trash...who wants to did the same trash over and over??? MOVE THE TRASH FIND THE GOLD!!!!!!!

I agree with beach hunter and Casper all trash gets removed when I'm on the beach,I even pic stuff others leave if theres room in my pouch wich there almost always is.Happy hunting.:icon_thumleft:

Here in new Hampshire and southern Maine us old timers remove the trash but the new guys are having a tough time catching on...to bad they don't stay after dark.

There's an old timer that hits a Cape beach that will dig can tops and bottoms from 2 feet down and then dump them back
he told me once that they dont fit in his pouch - he picks up the bottle caps and pull tabs and small stuff - but I know when he has
been there the day before - because I'll find a few of those drifting on bottom nearholes
I found a huge gold ring under one of those once - picked it up - rechecked and got another signal - got a zinc bout 4 inches down - rechecked - got a signal
dug another few inches & got a rusty bottle cap - recheck again another hit - another penny - recheck and got a faint signal - thought it was another
penny - dug down about 1 & 1/2 feet and came up with a huge wedding band
it was about the only thing I got that day - rest of beach was cleaned except for a few other can tops on top

Not much respect there for being "out deep"

We ( Casper & Myself ) always take everything out with us. Yes it can be a pain in the a** , but you never know what you will find in the same hole... recently I found a can top and rechecked the hole and found a Barber Quarter and my old Meershaum Pipe in the same scoop... Please take it with you, it makes for a much better place. Why dig it and throw it back for the next guy? Eventually you are going to be that next guy too. You may even find yourself revisiting that same place agin in the future...
