ALMOST GOT STABBED TODAY....Over 15 cent basically...

Went to metal detect a house that i had detected bout 4 or 5 times..yes i had gotten a permission form the guy who was cutting the grass....i just asked one day while passing...dude said shi go ahead i dont care..ok today this dude drives thru and approachs me with a knife....talking bout why you at my grandmother house detecting...i told him politely dude that cuts the grass told me it was cool...so this dude ask me who i am..i told him who i be...i tell him homie you aint gotta approach me like that....so he says get off the property....i do..while the whole time watching the knife in this dudes hand....one wrong move and i promise you he would have had sume trouble...with my shovel...so while im leaving...i tell this dude...i understand this your peeps house..but you aint gotta approach me like that...you should check your grass cutter..he was like what you mean...shi somebody been coming here stealing copper...then he calls sumeone and they like..you not suppose to be on the property...if you dont leave in 10 secs the police coming..so i was like yes ma'am...i asked the grass cutter and he said it was cool....i told him homie i metal detect...i dont do **** like that...so **** it i leave...this dude following me homie and e'thang..when im in front of my house he pass thru...im like this where i stay....sume people ignorant minded ass ****...same thing happen before ol' guy gave me permission...female rides thru this my house what you doing here....i say mr.XXX...said it was cool.....she calls her uncle...he says yes i told him it was okay...she apologizes and ask me to watch the house for her...which is 2 houses over...this **** getting to be dangerous.. people alway wanting to get brolic before they get understanding....thats how alotta **** happen...and i promise you it wasnt gon happen to me...over sume misunderstanding...

dude approached me the wrong way doe...its a right and a wrong way to handle a situation...it was manless of him to approach me with a knife....as soon as i saw it my prison mentallity kicked in..."focus...protect and destroy"....i dont try to injure i try to kill...when im threatin'....thats what i've always lived by thats what prison taught me....i didnt disrespect homie...not becuz i was afraid but becuz im a man...and i understood it was his family's property....but if he would have pointed that knife my way any type of way....hey i would've caught a murder charge today....not acting all bad or anythang...but what the ****....a knife...
im more interested with whats in the ground....he just didnt know doe...the whole time that shovel was cocked and loaded....with a target focused on his throat....then the dude said it was stolen awhile back...couple years i think thats what he said..**** i started detecting 6mons ago....before that i was a straight home body type dude....

DL...there's lots of places to detect besides neighborhoods.
Suggest you go find a better spot....

FWIW, when the dude pulled the blade...well, it's time to just leave.
Don't stand there talking...just grab your chit and go find somewhere else.

thats true...but i didnt want to just leave...without saying anythang....he would have felt i was up to sume then...maybe got chased and stabb'd forreal...i feel you...but like i said sume people you just cant settle things with...world crazy...well the people thats in it...

it better be because he thinks it's a cool knife and wants me to check it out.

If he's aggressive, and has a knife in a threatening position, I'm heading the
other way. If he continues to pursue me, he's risking a .45 in the chest. I couldn't
imagine a more horrible situation than having to take a life just because of a
misunderstanding. Ever.

This is just a hobby we do for fun, and being in danger is not fun. Find
yourself somewhere else to go, or start knocking on doors getting permission
from the land owner before you find yourself in an altercation.

Ok, let me take a stab at this, no pun intended.

The OP got permission to detect a yard from a gardener. However while detecting the yard he was approached by someone with standing to the property who told him to leave. This particular individual had a knife in his hand while speaking with the OP. The OP left, but was followed home by the guy with the knife.

The OP then tells another story of a similar yet not similar incident where he got permission to detect a yard. Someone else questioned why he was there until it was determined that he did have permission.

The OP's post is then wrapped up by referencing his time while he was incarcerated and that he was ready to protect himself from the man with the knife, regardless of the potential legal consequences.

If anyone sees anything that I'm missing, please fill in the blanks.

Yep, if I approach someone with a blade, it has gotten beyond talking. I'm too old for that nonsense. If someone approaches me with a knife, I'm not going to be a happy camper. Can't say what will happen but I just know I have to somehow make sure this person does not threaten me again. You're probably not eligible to carry if you have been to prison, but this guy may not be so lucky with the next guy he pulls a blade on.

WOW... Press 1 for English "dude".... On a more serious note if I'm correctly interpreting your gangsta talk... Holy hell man, just quoting your comments made my spell check explode in a ball of fire. But anyway.. You were there with permission from some "gardener" who is not the property owner. The "homie" was the grandson of the lady who owns the place and you were on HER property. I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on tv but if you did anything at all other than leave then you would have been at fault and you would be in jail right now. Good luck with the self defense plea when you were clearly trespassing.

Wow...that had to be an unnerving situation. I am glad no one got hurt. I'm so sorry you had this experience. The knife was completely unnecessary, but maybe that is how they rule in that kind of neighborhood. I thankfully live out in country and not familiar with that kind of culture, but believe me ....that kind of person can be anywhere. I had a crazy uncle who could have done something like that.

Perhaps in this neighborhood it would be best to always get the actual property owner's permission. Sounds like some folks there don't have any patience. Truthfully though, a situation like this could happen to nearly anyone, nearly anywhere. We never know where crazies may be lurking, and perhaps in some surprising places.

it wasnt the gardener it was his daddy found that out today...i was walking home he was driving...the house is right down the block....yes i was ready to protect myself...flip the consequences...i had left his property....maybe im not educated enough to
break it down to you....things happen quickly...like i said im from the hood...things are handled differently...sorry if the blanks wasnt filled in...
