🔎 UNIDENTIFIED any idea what this could be? looks like copper, but weighs like brass

some writting on the bottom but i cant make it out. the shape of this object has me wondering what its from. it appears to be broken or flatten out? any help is appreciated. this was found in a yard. the house use to be a general store and a post office in the early 1900s. the town itself dates back to the 1700s.

doesnt look smashed down. looks like maybe it broke in half long ways.
