I have an AT Pro that I love but I have never hunted with the strap on the arm cuff around my arm. After a couple of hours of hunting I find that my hand will fall asleep from the weight of the machine and I just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and if so does using the strap on the cuff help. It just seems like it would get old real fast having to slide your arm in and out of the strap after every plug. Thanks

If this is a poll then no I don't use mine either. I put the machine down to dig plugs too much to put it on and off.

X2, I am putting the machine down to often to dig plugs.

I don't like to use the strap on my machine,it's too confining.

Just in the way in my opinion. Tried it, didn't like it, don't use one.

land I don't use, water I do....

Never wore one on any of the garrett machines but its a must for the CTX

It's a personal thing. At first I didn't like it because of sliding the arm in and out of the cuff.

I beach hunt 95% of the time and I always use my. I never set the detector down I scoop up the target, drop in the pouch and move on to the next treasure.

I prefer strapless

I use them 100% of the time. I'm with Skippy on this one and couldn't of said it better. On the AT Pro since it was front end heavy I put my elbow on top of a tight strap and it allowed for better balance. So I actually used it but not by sliding my arm under the strap.

Lol. I don't think putting your arm on top of the strap is using it. That's what everyone does that doesn't use it.

I own 6 detectors at the moment, all have arm straps and I use strap on all of them. Just like guns, better to have them and not need them then need it and there not be one there...

Whether your arm is below or above the strap it's still using it. The detector's forward weight pushed the strap up against the bottom of my arm and changed the dynamics of how it balanced.

Tried this and it does make a difference although I'm not sure it's better. The coil feels slightly lighter, except now my bicep hurts.

After reading all the "no strap" comments I took mine off to see how it would do in the Fors and surprisingly well. So no strap now for me!

It all depends on what coil size you are running and what detector you are using (S shaft versus a T2 style handle). If you don't need it just fold it down in the armcuff.
For beach hunting where I usually have a long stick out of lower rod and never bend or squat down, I always use a strap.

The reason that I like the strap is that it keeps the upper end from shifting while I swing the detector.

i use it in the water so i can pet go of my detector by my arm is still through the strap so it stays close.

To each their own, if it feels good, do it. No right nor wrong here. It's simply personal preference.

So true Loco!
