I only had about 30 mins to hunt so I ran down to the high school. I have hunted it before and it's loaded with clad and foil but I decided to only dig 12-45 and higher that we're at least 5 inches and 12-20 and lower for rings. Well I head for the older looking dirt on the one side and started swinging. 5 min later I got a slamming hit 3 inches but I had to dig it because it was so good. Well out came a 1897 barber quarter I didn't expect that It looked funny like it was stacked on another coin. I check the hole and bam another hit and a 42 walker half came out but the mark on the quarter didn't match I checked the hole again and holy poop another barber quarter 1898 we'll that was it in the hole and I'm happy. I did dig some clad about 2 bucks worth. And a fist full of foil.

Scouts out!

sweetness! congrats on an awesome score!

Great drop history lesson; that barber quarters were still circulating with Walking Liberty Half dollars in the 1940's. Now we know why many barber quarters found today are very worn.

Man, those two barbers were in circulation all the way until 1942. Way to go!

Very nice. Sweet hole for sure...

Your right I never saw it coming. There is a 45 year gap in time between them. It still happens today but not to often.

I like seeing coins spills especially ones that were stacked on each other , found a stack of 5 buffalo nickels buried in the 1950's , somewhat similar to your discovery .

Scouts Out , I take it you were a Recon Marine , can you still hump 20 miles with 50 lbs. of gear , tough training and a force to be reckoned with , that's for sure .

Wow what an amazing find!!!! Congrats
