Wow i never thought i would find one of these... While poking around an older home in town today, i dug the usual wheat penny and started to get pieces of aluminum from a chain link fence that went off 12-45/12-46 on my e-trac. I quickly became discouraged after digging about four or five of them. As I was walking away to a different location i got another one, but i couldnt resist not digging it, and this one flashed 02-42 and then back to 11-45/12-45. After i removed the plug i saw the edge standing up and i sighed thinking it was going to be an aluminum token, but when i picked it up i saw the eagle on the back and my heart jumped a beat as i had realized i had just dug my first silver dollar. Talk about doing the happy dance. I could not believe it, i just sat there and stared at it for a few minutes. Its a 1923-p peace dollar, not worth a bunch but BIG SILVER, i usually only find silver dimes with an occasional quarter mixed in. Ive been on kind of a lucky streak lately picking up 12 silver coins this week. Im at 92 for the year and my goal of reaching 100 is closing it. I hope to find an SLG and at least one seated this year, never would have expected to find a silver dollar...

Not worth much at the coin store, but finding it in a hole you dig adds to its value greatly! If and when I ever find one, it's going to be the centerpiece of my silver finds!

WTG!!!   :icon_king: :icon_king:

Great find!

Not worth a lot of $, but carry it for luck! :icon_sunny:

This is going to date me, but I remember seeing those in change. They are nice, aren't they?

That right there is the reason I don't use detectors that have meters or ID signagraphs. Gives me too many reasons to walk away from signals that I should be digging.

GREAT find! :hello2:

A dollar, must be like me finding an old Crown (similar size in solid silver), but I have yet to get one  :hello2:

Very Nice One Mr Dave. That counts for 10 silvers on your dad right. LOL :laughing7:

Great find, not one you will soon forget.

It's worth a lot! The memories are priceless of digging it out, it will out last many other digs. Congrat's on the big silver. :icon_thumright:
