Bronze/Brass Whirly Thingy???

I know I have seen one of these before but I can't recall what it is. It is brass/bronze and hollow.
It was found in a field in the UK that has modern as well as older items.
Anybody remember seeing one of these or know what it is?

I thought that might be it too. I've tried to find pictures but no luck yet. Hopefully somebody will.
