Kind late on the crappie ! Took me a few minutes to land this channel cat! Surprised I got it in the boat.

An 11' crappie rod? That's got to be some noodle..... 8-)

And here I thought my 10' Lami spoon rod was long....

I tried for some channel in a local pond. No luck at all. The state released some otters here and a farmer friend told me they’ve wiped out the fish in our ponds. I just love all the unintended consequences the state provides us with their misguided thinking. They planted Korean honeysuckle at the resevoir and now it’s taking over everything.

Otters are cool, but just not all the time. Those critters will clean out every pond they can find..not intentionally, but they gotta eat.

Did she swallow the hook, or was it lip-caught?

Congrats!

Eaaaaasy does it.
(You had a good knot tied right.)

nice fish!
what bait were you using?

my wife and I have caught 3 channel cats on crappie jigs on our property.
Bucktail jig pink and green

Nice catch :) Did you keep it or let it go ?
