Awesome ! Would love to hunt some Florida beaches where those cobs show up after beach storm erosion.

Great finds! I am with tom. I want to retire there in 10 years! I'm almost there.

Awesome !!!! :occasion14:

Well tom hit it right on the head. STORM BEACH EROSION. coins dribbiling out of the sand as it erodes.

Got a new storm going through there on the West coast. Maybe more cobs? Certainly more adventure!

I can see why you joined TNet, and we're glad you did. The entertainment value AND the inspiration.

I use to live there...before i got into TH'ing.

Crusty cob partially preserved along with maravedi and 2 or 4 reale from same sitephoto-12.webpphoto-12.webp

I heard about the storm going through there and wanted to head right out. But i can't really afford that trip right now.

What was your total coin count on days like that ? Like were you getting a lot of clad, and/or USA old coins as well on those days ?

I too would like to know what else you found on "... days like that?"

To answer tom in ca, ya usually I end up with a handful of coins like these. I have found some nice silver coinage like Mercury's, standing liberties, barbers, etc. But most of it is usually modern coinage thats half rotted after a week in the water. I have found a lot of gold and silver and platinum jewlery over the years. I will post more pics of other things in the future. Im slowly learning to navigate this site its my first day and a bit challenging. I have cigar boxes of coinage like this. My son thinks its great. Its all treasure to him. Maybe ill re bury it some day. I gather a lot of aluminum and trash too. Its not all glory like the money shots. Determination and putting in time does pay off in the end. I cant figure out how to like someones finds yet its driving me nuts!!photo-16.webp
