Counterfeit 1851 $5 Gold Piece....

[momule55]

Got out for awhile and took the GBSE for a stroll. Was hunting a CW camp that I've been to several times and this was found at 10" with nails all around it. It's copper and a very good copy. Guess it was guilded at one time. Got my heart beating for sure!!

[HEAVYMETALNUT]

wow and damn all in the same hunt! still a awesome find!

[MUD(S.W.A.T)]

Counterfeit, but still has some value if its a period counterfeit.

Nice find,

Keep @ it and HH !!

2011 must be the year of the counterfeit, I have found three & know of another one on this forum already. So with yours that's 5 so far.

[sandals55]

still a great find!!

[Erik in NJ]

I vote BANNER - like the love token, more interesting than the real coin!

[allen]

My heart would still be pounding, even
after realizing it was a counterfeit coin.

[fistfulladirt]

Awesome! That dig would make my year!
