CRISPINS CRITTERS

Scott,

Quite the impressive work around on the custom key to open those bank boxes....

Here's a chuckle for you and others on the thread....pretty much 2 years ago I rented a double sized bank box to stash my gold and silver finds....guess what I never got around to putting them in the box yet....lol.

I thought you'd all get a chuckle at my expense.

Regards + HH

Bill,
Don't lose the key!
I'm betting that it is pricey.
I don't handle the money part, my Friend has that covered.
I just come up with ways to make the job easier.

Pippin, old Friend,
Yes, stay a bit longer!

It's still early.

But if you have to go,

Best,

Scott

Not to be misunderstood about the "universal" guard key;

The bank has 2-3 guard keys and they sometimes don't know which one goes to a particular box.
When there is a renter's key, they just keep trying theirs until one works.

I've struggled once or twice with them not knowing which of their keys went to a box I'm trying to open
so I disassembled 3-4 other locks I've replaced and made a composite of the three guard keys on one.
Viola!

A "universal" key.
The black on the key is sharpie and I scratch where I want to cut
and use a jewelers saw to make the cuts.

It is near impossible to open a box without the correct guard key.
Between the special key and the two tools,
I can open any box in that bank within 10-15 minutes.
Or even less.
We'll see soon.
They want us to do about a dozen in a month or so.

I'll have my friend time me on them.

Best,

Scott

Folks,

Barb,

Maybe you can set up an outdoor box for those critters with some blankets....I'm sure you can figure out a work around.

LOL! Great idea Bill...Actually since the stacked wood is covered with a tarp it puzzles me why they don't go to that, maybe cause the woodrats whom I am very fond of live there.
I think now that you mention that, maybe I can figure something out: )
