Somehow, I understand that validation of the scuba buddy system.

Why is that, Captain Ron?

;D

Don Jose, you are shaking my faith in you...
First up to the boat?

There is little more important than selecting the right partner... in any venture!

I've GOT one partner. Best I ever had. Better than I deserve, most likely.
Many others have fallen by the wayside, for various reasons.

Re: DANGERS IN CAVES

Guys & Gals ~
This is the 21st century !!!! There is such a simple answer to this matter.......

The objective, as I see it, is to rid the cave of all animal life, without doing any damage to the cave or the animal lives involved... that way you'll be able to just walk in... explore.... find what you want and leave..... then everyone and everything is happy.....

In the 21st century we handle this type of problem like this :

Hire an attorny... have him/her serve an eviction notice to anything that may be living in the cave..... give them 30 days to leave or the authorities will remove them by force...... then sit back and wait to hear from your attorney that the cave is clear.... ;D

It's so simple ! 8)

I tend to agree,
People (and snakes as well I assume)
treat their relative differently than they treat others.
Lawyers and snakes, ...... hmmmmmm

Re: DANGERS IN CAVES

I know this thread is old, but has anyone here used a robot with a mounted camera to first investigate if there is anything worth further investigating?

Re: DANGERS IN CAVES

I have never done it.
But several members here do use the idea regularly
Ask Gollum about his special little guy.

It is about the most impressive one I have seen.
Made special just for this purpose.

Very cool

Re: DANGERS IN CAVES

Shouldn't be too hard to put a wireless camera on a remote control R/C car...

All my big ones have nitro motors, which would not be so good to try for that use.

It's a good idea, though!

Did you ever see a snake? Anybody can write something on a wall. Get a good flashlight and check it out, and go from there.

Here are some pics of my RC Rock Crawler:

The camera is a wireless infra-red one I found on ebay. I had planned on building one with a six channel remote, pan and scan, with some other goodies.

Re: DANGERS IN CAVES

Thanks Mike,
You have some of the best stuff.
I wouldn't have said anything if it hadn't been seen before.
I still think this is an awesome little animal!

Thanks for showing it again.
Merry Christmas Buddy.

Re: DANGERS IN CAVES

Look out for bats and snakes. Always have one person outside the cave, to get help, if need be. Merry Christmas to all.

Re: DANGERS IN CAVES

I have never laughed so hard in my life reading a blog like this! Some of the things mentioned are downright silly, and a few of them were not so nice.....Why don't we THINK outside of the box??? What's so special about this cave? I mean, there are probably several other caves around to explore and prospect, but there may be another reason why those rattle snakes are there! Someone put those snakes in there to protect the cave, and whatever of value that might be in the cave....my money is on someone putting the snakes in there, and I sure wouldn't want to be around when those people showed back up....I don't think they would be too nice to deal with, and besides, has this cave been checked out to see if there is a claim on it? Just a thought(s)...SushiDog
