Detector(s) used
FISHER F75 / TESORO SAND SHARK / CZ 21
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Decided to go out for a dig..... winter boredom has set in lol.

Used the Sand Shark in the new mode ..... used it in normal mode last time. I like the new mode much better.

Still learning about the Shark.... giving me very mixed and confusing feelings.

Small items like a copper screw or tiny piece of copper it sounds off great....then swing it over a larger item of same depth and it is a sound only heard by the slight change in threshold hum.
Found a pepsi bottle cap in very wet muddy salt sand ....banging sound.... so i berried it down 8 inches and once again..banging sound !!! Gives me confidence. !!

Skip to the musket balls....only about 4 -5 inches in wet muddy salt sand..... a low sound noticed at first by change in the threshold hum. BUT also my Fisher F75 will also give a low noise sometimes on musket balls. However.. IT DID FIND THEM.

The Silver Spoon rang in loud n clear at about 6 inches. Hope to find a silver coin in salt to see what it does.

So far I,m liking it..today was much better than day 1.....think the new mode is much better and it pinpoints great.....only needed my pinpointer twice.

Ok...here is pictures of my day...... BTW.. it was -7 and winds at 25 knots making a much colder wind chill and snowing...lolol.

My coil was freezing up with ice and mud.......maybe I need to see a Doctor !!!!!!

On top of the cylinder it says.. Made For Morgan and Wright Chicago

Frozen tundra greetings, AQUA,

You're a stout hearted detectorist to brave these temperatures and winds!

I believe your small Morgan & Wright tube to be their smaller bicycle pump, pre 1906:

That Is One Sweet Silver Spoon! I Bet Theres A Lot more To Be Found There!

Don't bother with the doc my friend! Bad news, there's no cure for what you have. It's terminal so just go with it. That's what I'm gonna do :-) good finds with the new machine

Now that's what you call wanting to detect. It's in the 30's here and I'm about to freeze. It's hard to believe I was in chest deep water Sunday with 65 deg temps.

Wish I could dig anything right now! I can't remember a winter this cold with this much ice and wind. Been rough here in Maine. Trying to build a house on the ocean and it's been rough. Can't wait for spring. You a lobsterman Aqua? Good fishing around here. I worked on Vinalhaven which is an island off the coast here. Not an easy way to make a living these days!

Congrats on the courage (or insanity?) to get out in that bone chilling cold! I hope all your toes and fingers survived!
At lest the sand isn't frozen. You had no problems with your detector in that cold?

Save your money for the doctor.

Nice stuff. But, better you than me. I tried for a bit in my yard to scratch that itch. Ya know, even though I found a couple items. It just plain wasn't any fun. Had too dress too heavy, the wind kept stinging my eyes, the ground was frozen, I could barely hear above the wind.

I'm as hard core as they get but, ya know, I think I'm ruining the hobby for me. I'm turning it into something too close to going to work. I'm beginning to think that the stuff I've been looking for has been underground for 100's of years! I can wait until both the desire and the weather are in place. At least, tolerable. Maybe, just maybe, I am getting old. :dontknow:

But, that's just me.

Kudos on the stamina to get out and the nice finds!

YA... I fish in the Bay of Fundy off Southwest Nova Scotia...... catches were huge this fall seaon.

Bad time to be building a house by the ocean...the wind never stops and its freaking cold !!!!!!

TY Msbeepbeep...

No problems with the detector at all except the coil was building up with frozen mud and sand.....

There is no digital readouts...which I assume people have troubles with in the cold.
