43 steel cents are pretty common and don't have a lot of value even in higher grades. Finding one is great though!

Ohhhhhh. I totally clicked to see what a doctor ring is. I've never heard of someone digging a 43 with a metal detector, can you post a pic? I am curious to see the condition it is in.

Yeah, the only '43's I've found were with a PI machine or my pin pointer in a coin spill. They all were very rusty and almost worthless.
