I was tinkering on th MD with some settings in my " hunted out" yard. Beep, Beep, Beep about two inches down Little silver drum charm. Those hunted out areas sure do turn up some cool stuff.

Neat little find. Does it have a marking showing that it is silver?

I personally believe that no place is ever hunted out. There always is something masked by big iron somewhere along the way, at least in my opinion. I always seem to make new finds at places I have hunted for many times over for years. Congrats on the drum charm.

DeepseekerADS,
The first picture shows the makers mark. The pictures really dont show how the mark looks in real life. you can see it on the right of the drum on the second pic as well.

poorman15,
Iron was exactly what i was doing in the yard. I was checking out some disc. settings in a spot in my yard with a bunch of rusty nails. I'm with you about the iron hides alot of good stuff. I usually dig most hits and have found many items after i've taken a nail or an iron chunk out of the hole and then rechecked the hole.

Nice charm.

I recently reaffirmed that "Hunted out" rarely happens. JimDon and I went to a place that had been hunted hard by me and several friends over about 7 visits. Among the iron I found a 1944 quarter and 1840 half dime (my first half dime). Jim found a 1945 P War nickel and an 1892 Indian. We both found wheaties. This shows that no place is hunted out, you just have to get your coil over it.
