Very interesting shape for a Jug?- Why would someone center the spout, no idea.

First glance I thought small hand churn - but no lid

A thermos with a cork top? Have you posted it in the glass section yet? Someone there could probably ID it. Good luck.

Sure is a cool piece. It has the top of a butter churn. Is that two holes on the side? Nice find. Maybe it is a home made lantern.
 
Is there a hole on the side of it? Almost looks like an old ceramic foot warmer.
 
Very unique whatever it is. I would go with it being a cork-top thermos. :icon_thumright:

Saw one on the Antiques Roadshow, and ......nah just kidding. But I do think you have a good piece there. Keep us posted.
