Ok, so I had a pretty hectic day detecting. I thought today was going to be a great day. I kinda did like 40 min interval checks on different property to see which would be my best. Well, first I was at a run down house no bigger than my bedroom and I found 1 decent signal, a charm of sort. So, I continue detecting and walk up on a HUUUGE ground hog which scared the living sh*t out of me (come on, when your not expecting things to move everything is scary). Then, when I make it to my second house I run into my first ever bumble bee problem. Man, those things don't play no game. I dropped my shovel and my detector and ran (I had to ok, there were a bunch of them) and waited about 30 min for everything to calm down before I went back over there grabbed my stuff and ran like a UK player when they finally get a change for a touchdown (GO CARDS). But my question to everybody, how many of you have almost WRECKED your vehicle trying to look at what you thought was an old foundation while you were traveling down the road? I've done it twice now. They say third time is the charm ;D ;D

I came close sometimes but the wife usually hits me in the head. I talk about MD all the time and it drives her crazy.

I remember when I was with my father in law in an old abandoned house we were starting to get to work finding the treasure we thought had been lost there and we were upstairs and there was the biggest buzzard roosting up there, he jumped out at me and I almost put a bullet in him because I had my glock with me at the time. Me not being from Kentucky originally I was told by a friend when I moved here since he is from Lexington be careful in the mountains and go with someone because you never know when you might run into someones prize crops, so I took to good friends. My father in law and my glock with about 500 rounds of ammo. 8) I was a sworn officer at the time so I figured better safe than sorry.

The place was nice but too much weeds and we had planned to go back there in the fall. It had a nice old wooden cabin that had rotted down to the ground also.

I almost hit a deer about a week ago looking for holes. My girlfriend drove after that!

::)

I'm used to it..been trained by looking for deer every since I can remember. I still never checked the craw space under a house built around 1800. After seeing some old bottles under the house. I was excited to get under their to check them out, until I seen the big oh snake go in first....lol

Here's what Buckleboy is thinking in this photo:

1. "I wish I had paid more attention to the road instead of drooling over that house!"

2. "Why the HELL won't it stop raining? I'm gettin soaked--and so is everything in my car!"

ouch.webp

HA HA HA!! THAT'S AWESOME!!

No, I haven't . . . . YET! I hope I never do! But my wife sure gets mad at me when we're going somewhere and I'm slowing down to rubber-neck sites & dreaming of detecting!

You better up your car insurance man!

Actually, I lowered my car insurance LOL! I have a car now that is so cheap that if it gets hit no big deal. Still covered, but not for damage to a $100 car...

Got the insurance $$ from this one in savings :)

Those darn detectin trips!

Bumble bees die if they sting you, so you your normally safe unless you lean on one.

As for the car thing, I don't drive so I can look as much as I like :)

out detecting with my wife last sunday , I got crap for driving her car to the foundation ::)

how it happened after finding the foundation I went back to car to get backpack and rather than walking back up the trail I drove the car back into the woods. ;D

her question to me was would you drive your car like that ?

yes

Funny thing reading this! My 1st was today & I found myself in the wrong lane (sure glad there was no traffic)!
