Fake!!!

Hey gang, I have been fooled before, but this one takes the cake! I dug this 24" chain necklace on sunday afternoon at a local middle school grassy area, and let me tell ya.... it really got my juices flowing. Nice color, marked 14k and is quite heavy, so I really thought it was the "real deal".

Well, this afternoon I took it to my friend who is a jeweler/ gold buyer who did an acid test on it. As you could imagine I was anxiously watching and waiting when he finally uttered the verdict......I'm sorry to have to tell you this, he said, but it's a fake! Probably made of nickel he says.

All I got to say is it's one good looking fake.

feel your pain - have found about 4 fake chains - one huge 14k stamped brass medallion and a 14k brass stamped ring
