Northwest Missouri river bank find. My persistence paid off finally. Found the small point last night. The blade in the middle the night before. The one to the right(whatever it is)was found 4 nights ago. All of these were found within 50 yards of each other. The side of the river i found these on has a sand bank, at an angle upstream almost directly across is where a creek empties into the river. I think these are coming out of the creek, or at the bank where the creek joins the river. Does anyone have any idea what type of point it is? Could the gray piece be a preform, or an odd blade?

Nice, You never forget your first.

It's been 41 yrs since my first, and I can still see it as it was.

Congrats!
It kinda looks Hopewell ..Adena Mabey I don't know your area real well.
The last piece looks like a work in progress ..like a blank/perform.. then when the bottom broke it wasn't used.
I would bet the main site is real close to where you found those not across the river.
Especially if the bottom is sandy.
It sounds like it would be a good campsite directly across from that Creek Especially if They utilized that Creek for hunting.

Great! I'm happy for you!
Sometimes whole collections can come from one good site.
Be sure to turn off the G.P.S. on your phone before you take and post photos of the spot.. if you're using a phone.

You did very well. The one on the far right is broken at the base? Hard to know what is was before the break.

Being a water-oriented person myself, I'd say you're onto something. I always find them on 'the wash-up'- whether where creeks/streams/rivers join, or where high water- for whatever reason- pushes the sand and gravel/rock high. Great finds- and you will find more. I know it. Yakker ;)

Both sides of the knife, not very pretty, but I will always remember the feeling i had when i spotted it and reached down and picked it up.

Go get another one. After you find another one you will feel better. Each time you find one it is like finding your first all over again. 8-)
