and it only took 26 years lol.
i've been taking my camera with me for a while now just in case i found something nice but i never expected something this nice.

here is the field i've been on for the last few days.

i was on it this afternoon for about an hour with only scrap to show for it.
got a signal that i thought was more lead.
dug out some soil(muddy soil at that) and saw the edge of a gold coin.got my camera out and took these.

its a GEORGE 111 spade guinea 1788.
to say i'm a happy camper would be a slight understatement. ;D

i've had a day for it to sink in now and i'm still grinning from ear to ear.
the detector i use is a FISHER CZ6a,it's paid for itself a few times over now.
i haven't had a chance to go back to the field today but i'll be there in the next day or so,maybe find gold coin number 2 ;D

to all those who haven't yet found a gold coin,
it was my turn,
i hope you find the next one.
 

Amazing!!! What a great piece, and it being the first gold coin you've ever found. It makes me wish I could go back to the day that it was lost there. Could it have happened that long ago, or could it have been someone's lucky coin that they had once found, then lost. Either way it is great for you.

HOOOOOLY,excellent find Liverpool!! It took me 26 years also,just got mine back in May and man,what a thrill!!!Hope it doesn't take us another twenty six years,a walker can be quite cumbersome when trying to detect,LOL,I hope they make'em in fiberglass by then,HEHEHEHE.Congrats on your first and welcome to the club!! That field looks like you could hunt it for the rest of your life and not be done with it.
