:laughing7: I hope everyone will play along. Rack did the point game and Ill do the pottery game. There is 3 piles and only 1 pile is pottery. I find so much lookalike pottery in the creek. See if you can pick the rite pile. This will be fun.
1, 2 or 3 your choice and one pile is really pottery shards.
Lets see your skills, rock

Steve that pottery looks like South GA types. Not much was in that design that I find here. The pottery here is quite thin. That looks thick. Check the pottery I found this yr and you will see. I have other pieces but these are the best. I keep the prints and rims. If it is plain I hold them for somebody who wants them. Just this week I sent a care package to one lucky person on Tnet. And you know who I am, rock

Many types of vessels were made. in each village rock....some thick some thin.. for cooking for storage..ect.
It's not just one thickness in one area.
Those pieces Reaper has there look Mississippian .. from what I've seen..yours are likely older.

Here are a few pots in a local museum. They were made by the Occaneechee tribe along the Roanoke river.

The large pots were dug by an amateur archeologist that obtained permission to dig through the state of VA. They were found stacked inside of each other. The small pots were found by a team of archeologist and volunteer hands during the Abbyville excavations. They were found strategically placed in burials. I have a few game stones found along the Abbyville shore line. It's flooded now. In times of extreme drought, the 4 mile island that served as the Occaneechee tribe's home will emerge. Silt has settled deep on the island now. If it is emerged long enough for a strong storm to hit, some of the silt will wash away, leaving washed up artifacts on the banks opposing the island. Here are my finds.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid. Is that tooth agatized? Forgive spelling. I think you know what I mean. Like instead of petrified wood, agatized wood.
