First hunt of march! A Un-Reale find!! 8 that is!

I just got back from vacation to almost all the snow gone . The next couple of days are supposed to be real crappy and cold so I figured my last day,I'd go out. I hit the same area as a few weeks ago. Either I know what I'm doing now or I just sucked before . Anyway I spent 2 hours and gridded a 10 X 4 area. Everyone of these hits were mixed in with iron and sounded bad until I moved the dirt. The first 2 hits were both thimbles in good shape! I've never dug 2 before so right there ,I was a happy camper. The next hit I had a semi- heart attack because I saw gold in the hole. It was a gold Gilt button that still had leather attached!!View attachment 1557661View attachment 1557662View attachment 1557663. The next hit was a beautiful pewter spoon handleView attachment 1557664View attachment 1557665I'm going to have to search this area real hard,I want to find the rest! Last hit was the killer! I had all sorts of metal around it and I'm lucky I didn't give up but here it is,from 9 inches deep, boys and girls- A 1795 8 Reale .Under my loupe ,I can see the mark of Bolivia. I decided time to go IMG_20180301_133820064_crop_624x624.webpIMG_20180301_133852911_crop_624x624.webp

Huge congrats on your silver beauty, a find that is on many hunters want list.

LOVE it! I like the second pic best, congrats on a beauty of a find.

Crisp piece of eight...
Legible and even though some "dings"... this coin is a textbook 8.

Well done... and also a banner in my book.

(ps... did any marks come from recovering ?)

Gotta love "The Nose" coins....nicely done!

Fantastic find in excellent condition-congratulations! That's number one on my bucket list.
Thanks! I’m glad I didn’t whack it with my shovel.

Um, what?!? Holy smokes, what a dig!!
Thanks!
I’ve found two large “Spanish dollar” sized silver coins, and both left me in shock. Remembering my own crazy reactions, I could only imagine your excitement uncovering such a large beautiful coin. Congrats on a game changer.
I never knew how big they were, I had to stop detecting after because I couldn’t concentrate. It was on the edge of the hole, almost dropped it in:laughing9:

Banner vote in from me. Mine made it up so hopefully yours will as well! [emoji2][emoji106]

Congrats on the Big Kahuhna of Spanish Reales. Very nicely detailed too. What dreams are made of mate.

That's an awesome coin. It'd look great up top for sure. Did you find it in NH? Anyway my vote is in.

Fantastic find and a moment you will never forget. I hope you were able to get some in dirty in situ pictures.

Great find! 8R is the big find for Spanish silver! :notworthy:
oh it’s big alright!!!

Welcome to the 8R club! Awesome coin. The one I found is just like that one but from 1806. Such an amazing coin. Very cool that yours is from Bolivia. Congrats!
yeah I thought that was cool too being from Bolivia, not to say the coin isn’t awesome already!!!

And might I add spectacular condition and patina! Don't over clean it. Beautiful score
Thank you! Don’t worry, I’m done cleaning it! I wrecked enough coins my first couple of years!

YEP THATS MINE .DROPPED IT LAST WEEK, NICE FINDS

Damn Creade that’s a beauty! That baby is a BANNER in my opinion. It would be to me for sure. Congrats on knocking one off that most of us poor suckers will never find
