Howdy y'all,

Hit it for a few hours with Brother john37115 on an old farm site today. Lots of iron in the ground. I found my first Indian Head Penny. (1904) also a 1915 D wheat and some relics. Found the Old file and the Indian Head in the same hole. :D Hopin' for a flying eagle cent now, I figure the chances are slim since they were only made what 3 years. Maybe I'll get to skip and go straight to a big coppa ;D The one iron piece looks like some sort of handle to me. ??? I like the small loop back button too. Maybe off a lady or childs garment I'm guessing.

Great Digs...Got yerself a nice mix...Glad to see that injun found a home...Congrats and HH

Nice hunt and finds! HH, Mike

Congrats on your IH Kirk. Sounds like a good place to find a token to.

Congrats on your first Injun!
Judging from my own experience, I would say that it's VERY LIKELY that you'll skip right over the Flying Eagle Cent and find a Large Cent first.
A Large Cent is more than twice the size, and were in circulation almost 20 times longer than the Flying Eagle. The odds are just better.
I found close to 100 Injuns last year, and 7 Large Cents, but still no Flying Eagle.
Good luck, and congrats again!

Cool finds. Congrats on your first Injun.

Congrats on that first!!! 8) I still remember exactly where I found my first one.

Exciting finds there, Kirk!! Congrats~Nana :)

Congrats on your first IH! Once you break each "First" in metal detecting, it seems like the finds come much easier. I wish you ROLLS of IH's, and perhaps even an 1877 or two. Well done, buddy.

Regards,

Buckleboy

Way to go! I found my first Wheat (1915) on my second hunt ever. Still waiting on my first Indian Head though. Think of me while you're enjoying your first IH!

Congrats on your first IH cent, it's a beauty!

I found my first one last month, I told the homeowner "You know what I'd like to find? An Indian Head penny". My wish was realized about an hour later.

Kirk WTG on digging your 1st IH,it is in pretty good shape too

I use to think the same as you about finding any Flying Eagle cents, then after digging for weeks at this one site(where i found 4 IH's) as i was leaving slowly detecting back to my car..i got a nice clear signal maybe 10ft away from my vehicle(thinking OK this will be my last plug i dig today) sitting at the bottom of the hole i saw a coin with an eagle on it,and instantly knew what it was...it was a 1857 F.E. cent.(one great day for me)

Don't give up Kirk they are out there
