First large Cent today!!!

[cntrydncr1]

Got out this evening for a few hours with several guys from my club. We hunted an old carnival/circus site. I found an area that seemed like it might have been a homesite. I found a very neat old magnifying glass, 2 wheaties, 2 finial looking things, and a porcelain doorknob.

The large cent was found about 4-5 inches down. I'm including uncleaned pics. I can see the words "One cent" when I run it under water. I was so excited!!! This is definately my oldest coin in the year I have been hunting.

Congrats on the LC!

You can use the found magnifier as your pocket 'field unit'.

What are the two painted-ceramic-looking things toward the top of the pic?

[Hunter]

They are both metal finials.

Great finds. I aquired a mini magnifier similer to that a few years ago. Was told it was from the boy scouts. Yours looks alot older though. Nice job!
