Hello T'Netters!
I have not been on Tnet in a few years, what can I say... I've been busy! ;-)
My youngest and I got out with the PitDiggers for a nice, 4 hour afternoon hunt. Weather was good and started off the year with a bang. Found the typical three ringers, which is always good. MonkeyBoy III found a few three ringers and the back to a US epaulette. I found a few odd brass pieces.. not sure what they are. I worked my way over to the treeline in one of the fields and started digging modern trash. It was not a lot so I kept poking around till I got one of those banner hits.. bam! Nice Eagle plate only 4" or so in the ground. Had to do the happy dance and everyone checked out the plate (This was the 2nd plate.. the youngest PitDigger popped one 5 minutes after we got there!!! ) So, wrapped up the plate, stuck it in my pocket and went back to the woodline. I got another banner signal within 5 minutes or so and popped another US Eagle out, again only about 4" or 5" deep. I pulled the other one out, held up one in each hand and just had to laugh! All and all it was a great day and a hella way to start the new year!!

Here is a pic of the better finds. Got a Williams Cleaner carved into a fishing weigh or a plumb bob. The flatten bullet looks like it had a nail in it, most likely for popping off crushed primers.. I've dug quite a few of those over the years. Canteen top in the mix as well.

Happy Digging!!!
