Didn't have a bad morning at all. Headed across town to hunt a super soggy football field. I had no idea the sprinklers had been stuck on for a week. The maintenance man was kinda giggling when he heard my choice words after slippingin the muck. I started out at the edge of the field and worked toward the center. Got lots of clad and trash in the first hour. Then hit this neat little 10k ring. it weighs 1.3 grams. had to do a lot of straightening but didn't come out too bad. I finished at the opposite side of the field and got the silver quarter. I don't find many of these around here. This one was about 3 inches and was pretty tarnished coming out of the muck. Had the wife use her jewelry cloth to clean it. Generally I don't clean coins, but this one is pretty beat, so what the heck. By the way the ring came up at a 2 VDI and was only about a half inch deep. Not a loud tone but solid enough to dig. Hope all your hunts are going great.

Great finds JuJu. It came up a +2 VDI hum. I would have ignored it. Darn more to dig!

Ya know I usually won't dig those either. I do on the other hand carry a probe made from a bicycle spoke and a lugnut. The spoke is welded into the lugnut and sharpened on the other end. If I get a signal like that I will use the probe. If the object stops the probe I will use the screwdriver to pop it out. Most signals that low are real shallow and most likely a candy wrapper. So if the probe doesn't hit anything solid I move on. Usually after a couple pokes with the probe you can tell it is foil or solid. I have found a ton of gold earrings this way. I don't waste a ton of time on these signals but I will usually investigate them.
Luck in the hunt.
