ran across this guy while hunting,he was between two rocks and a hard place.not sure how long he was there but after helping him out of his situation i noticed he had torn off both his back legs trying to get free.i was glad to find him before he gave up.i carried him around with me for awhile wondering what to do with em,finally after setting him down close to the water he took of in it and was gone.reminded me to never give up....jamey

What great finds. I spent my summers playing in stones river as a kid.Thought of going back many times. You are on some good sites and some of the best knapped stuff ever came off of Duck River down the road from you. I would buy a book called Overstreets. It list all the points and areas found. a really cool tool for identification. These guys on here though are pretty sharp too. Look forward to seeing more. Congrats on some really good points in good shape.

Happy huntin,

Past Duck river is Monteagle. There are some great over hangs and indian shelters up there. Lots of nut stone and morters and pestles. Check out Elk River also its not far from you either. Get adventurous you have Carter mtn with tons of overhangs in the ridges on top... Have a good season.

It does look like a clovis. Is there a fluted channel or is it unfluted? Wow if it is a clovis you are looking at 12000 years whooly mamoth old. Looks to be of good grade maybe worth up to $2500.00
You need to start a new topic and just say "Clovis". What a find in stone,........ Congratulations !
My humble opinion if its Clovis it is a Banner find.

thanks you all,i am no way an expert on these but each one i find is a work of art to me.the flutes do not go all the way down it,maybe just trying to thin it .it was sitting right in the water, please dont vote it for the banner,as that should go to ones who know what they are finding,im just trying to learn what im finding thanks again jamey

P.s beleive it or not I have a black and white framed pic of that river in my living room.I have not been back on it since i was a kid fishing the summers away.

i hope we do not have the same edition, mine being the 10th.not a point on the page over five dollars, that being a brewerton eared-triangle. not that it matters as im not selling them.im almost done with my stones river collection just want a six inch point, like the one a friend found to top it off.then it is off to work on the display case.the stones river is really a nice river and i see why you miss it,it holds alot of history within it.my dad says i find them because of the blackfoot indian in me,but i dont know always loved rocks. jamey

I was looking at the 9th addition. Sorry about that.I am pretty sure yours is a clovis though. I found a lost lake sunfish style the other day. I was pretty stoked on that one.My aunt had about 15 acres on stones river down from the bridge and park in Murfreesboro. I spent my summers there and have always wanted to go back.I am sure it has changed much.Keep posting and after this weekend or next I should be posting some from the Tennessee river area. I keep metal detecting and am going to have to buckle down on one or the other. Take care and will look for your finds and thanks for sharing.
