Hello, I found this on Coin Beach in Delaware, it rolled up to me in a wave, and I'm wondering if it's something or how to find out?
I don't want to damage it anymore than I possibly already have and it's so encrusted. A chunk came off and it looks like it removed the top a bit in travel coming home? I have no knowledge of coins, metal detection, or anything like that. Thanks

Seems too big to be a coin, and it looks like iron (not a typical coin metal).

Put a magnet against it. If it's ferrous, it looks like junk to me.

Thanks everyone. Maybe I'll get lucky another time then

Looks like the top or bottom of an old steel beer can

Welcome to the forum. Keep on searching. Are you metal detecting?

I have never before. I was just walking along the beach. I would love to get into it though.

Keep an eye out for a good bargain om this forum. Some of these guys change detectors like I change underwear, at least every couple of years. And there are a lot of threads with advice for beginners on every subject imaginable. But be careful, it is habit forming.
